Complex Event Processing
Complex Event Processing
In a changing market, the emphasis is shifting from complex, high value low volume products to high volume, low margin flow business. We believe the key to success is having low latency decision management and processing systems. These allow the filtering of millions of messages per second coming from exchanges and other sources to establish and action trading opportunities. The technology that underlies the systems that are able to function in this real time environment is called CEP (complex event processing).

CEP systems provide an engine for processing, querying and correlating multiple streams of temporal data. Originating in real time feedback and control systems, they have found application in the finance industry as the backbone of algorithmic and electronic trading systems.

We work with major CEP system vendors such as Progress (Apama) and Oracle (Oracle CEP) to deliver bespoke trading system implementations.

Our recent projects include building an electronic trading system proof of concept for the prime brokerage desk of a tier two institution using Progress Apama, and the development of an algorithmic trading platform proof of concept using Oracle CEP.
